Mast bulkhead...
Been putting a lot of effort into the beefing up and refinishing of the bulkhead that's right in front of the mast. It's one of the very few areas of Improbable that wasn't quite right structurally. But it's all set now, basically indestructible...which is good as it transfers the loads of the keel and mast to the hull. Improbable Progress...
Back to the Improbable...which is now indoors at Betts Boats. Being inside out of the weather is a huge boost to the pace of the work! And I've been able to get the help of the excellent team now & then of the Betts Boats team. Jim Betts himself designed the new freshwater tanks, which the team then built of fiberglass and they're now bonded in. Putting things in perspective...
Sorry for long gaps in the Project Improbable blog. Been busy. Perhaps the best place to start is with my mom, Anitia Jimenez, who went into the hospital in December, was out briefly to a rehab facility around Xmas, then was back in the hospital for several weeks. This is mom dancing, perhaps only 15 years ago... Her diabetes, dementia, and other issues finally caught up with her despite her long history of a healthy lifestyle.
